The boy was raced by boat to the nearby port of Corfu and then by ambulance to hospital, Corfu TV News reports.

It’s not clear how the boy was injured or what his current condition is.

An investigation is being carried out by the Paxos Port Station of the Central Port Authority of Corfu.

An employee of the boat rental company was arrested and later released by the prosecutor.

It comes after Brit Jack Fenton was killed when he was hit by the tail rotor of a helicopter while holidaying in Greece.

The Brit was returning from Mykonos in a hired helicopter when he was struck in the head by the back propeller of the aircraft.

It’s understood Jack – who studied Sports Coaching & PE, Sports Studies at Oxford Brookes – “suffered horrific head injuries caused by a spinning rotor blade”.

The chopper’s pilot was arrested along with two ground technicians.
